17장
1 아사의 아들 여호사밧이 대신하여 왕이 되어 스스로 강하게 하여 이스라엘을 방비하되
1 Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place and strengthened himself against Israel.
2 유다 모든 견고한 성읍에 군대를 주둔하고 또 유다 땅과 그 아비 아사의 취한바 에브라임 성읍들에 영문을 두었더라
2 He placed forces in all thefortified cities of Judah and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraimthat Asa his father had captured.
3 여호와께서 여호사밧과 함께하셨으니 이는 저가 그 조상 다윗의 처음 길로 행하여 바알들에게 구하지 아니하고
3 TheLordwas with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals,
4 오직 그 부친의 하나님께 구하며 그 계명을 행하고 이스라엘의 행위를 좇지 아니하였음이라
4 but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments,and not according to the practices of Israel.
5 그러므로 여호와께서 나라를 그 손에서 견고하게 하시매 유다 무리가 여호사밧에게 예물을 드렸으므로 저가 부귀와 영광이 극하였더라
5 Therefore theLordestablished the kingdom in his hand. And all Judahbrought tribute to Jehoshaphat,and he had great riches and honor.
6 저가 전심으로 여호와의 도를 행하여 산당과 아세라 목상들도 유다에서 제하였더라
6 His heart was courageous in the ways of theLord. And furthermore,he took the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 저가 위에 있은지 삼년에 그 방백 벤하일과 오바댜와 스가랴와 느다넬과 미가야를 보내어 유다 여러 성읍에 가서 가르치게 하고
7 In the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah,to teach in the cities of Judah;
8 또 저희와 함께 레위 사람 스마야와 느다냐와 스바댜와 아사헬과 스미라못과 여호나단과 아도니야와 도비야와 도바도니야등 레위 사람을 보내고 또 저희와 함께 제사장 엘리사마와 여호람을 보내었더니
8 and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah; and with these Levites, the priests Elishama and Jehoram.
9 저희가 여호와의 율법책을 가지고 유다에서 가르치되 그 모든 성읍으로 순행하며 인민을 가르쳤더라
9 Andthey taught in Judah, having the Book of the Law of theLordwith them. They went about through all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.
10 여호와께서 유다 사면 열국에 두려움을 주사 여호사밧과 싸우지 못하게 하시매
10 And the fear of theLordfell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, and they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
11 블레셋 중에서는 여호사밧에게 예물을 드리며 은으로 공을 바쳤고 아라비아 사람도 짐승떼 곧 수양 칠천 칠백과 수염소 칠천 칠백을 드렸더라
11 Some of the Philistinesbrought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute, and the Arabians also brought him 7,700 rams and 7,700 goats.
12 여호사밧이 점점 강대하여 유다에 견고한 채와 국고성을 건축하고
12 And Jehoshaphat grew steadily greater. He built in Judah fortresses and store cities,
13 유다 각 성에 역사를 많이 하고 또 예루살렘에 크게 용맹한 군사를 두었으니
13 and he had large supplies in the cities of Judah. He had soldiers, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
14 군사의 수효가 그 족속대로 이러하니라 유다에 속한 천부장 중에는 아드나가 으뜸이 되어 큰 용사 삼십만을 거느렸고
14 This was the muster of them by fathers' houses: Of Judah, the commanders of thousands: Adnah the commander, with 300,000 mighty men of valor;
15 그 다음은 장관 여호하난이니 이십 팔만을 거느렸고
15 and next to him Jehohanan the commander, with 280,000;
16 그 다음은 시그리의 아들 아마시야니 저는 자기를 여호와께 즐거이 드린 자라 큰 용사 이십만을 거느렸고
16 and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri,a volunteer for the service of theLord, with 200,000 mighty men of valor.
17 베냐민에 속한 자 중에 큰 용사 엘리아다는 활과 방패를 잡은 자 이십만을 거느렸고
17 Of Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, with 200,000 menarmed with bow and shield;
18 그 다음은 여호사밧이라 싸움을 예비한 자 십 팔만을 거느렸으니
18 and next to him Jehozabad with 180,000 armed for war.
19 이는 다 왕을 섬기는 자요 이 외에 또 온 유다 견고한 성에 왕이 군사를 두었더라
19 These were in the service of the king, besidesthose whom the king had placed in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.18장1 여호사밧이 부귀와 영광이 극하였고 아합으로 더불어 연혼하였더라
1 Now Jehoshaphathad great riches and honor,and he made a marriage alliance with Ahab.
2 두어해 후에 저가 사마리아에 내려가서 아합에게 나아갔더니 아합이 저와 종자를 위하여 우양을 많이 잡고 함께 가서 길르앗 라못 치기를 권하더라
2 After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab killed an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.
3 이스라엘 왕 아합이 유다 왕 여호사밧에게 이르되 당신은 나와 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가시겠느뇨 대답하되 나는 당신과 일반이요 내 백성은 당신의 백성과 일반이니 당신과 함께 싸우리이다
3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah,Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?He answered him,I am as you are, my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.
4 여호사밧이 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 청컨대 먼저 여호와의 말씀이 어떠하신지 물어 보소서
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,Inquire first for the word of theLord.
5 이스라엘 왕이 이에 선지자 사백인을 모으고 저희에게 이르되 우리가 길르앗 라못에 가서 싸우랴 말랴 저희가 가로되 올라 가소서 하나님이 그 성을 왕의 손에 붙이시리이다
5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them,Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?And they said,Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king.
6 여호사밧이 가로되 이 외에 우리가 물을만한 여호와의 선지자가 여기 있지 아니하니이까
6 But Jehoshaphat said,Is there not here another prophet of theLordof whom we may inquire?
7 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 이르되 오히려 이믈라의 아들 미가야 한 사람이 있으니 저로 말미암아 여호와께 물을 수 있으나 저는 내게 대하여 길한 일은 예언하지 아니하고 항상 흉한 일만 예언하기로 내가 저를 미워하나이다 여호사밧이 가로되 왕은 그런 말씀을 마소서
7 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of theLord, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil.And Jehoshaphat said,Let not the king say so.
8 이스라엘 왕이 한 내시를 불러 이르되 이믈라의 아들 미가야로 속히 오게 하라 하니라
8 Then the king of Israel summoned an officer and said,Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.로마서
9장
30 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 의를 좇지 아니한 이방인들이 의를 얻었으니 곧 믿음에서 난 의요
30 What shall we say, then?That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is,a righteousness that is by faith;
31 의의 법을 좇아간 이스라엘은 법에 이르지 못하였으니
31 but that Israelwho pursued a law that would lead to righteousnessdid not succeed in reaching that law.
32 어찌 그러하뇨 이는 저희가 믿음에 의지하지 않고 행위에 의지함이라 부딪힐 돌에 부딪혔느니라
32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over thestumbling stone,
33 기록된바 보라 내가 부딪히는 돌과 거치는 반석을 시온에 두노니 저를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당치 아니하리라 함과 같으니라
33 as it is written,Behold, I am laying in Ziona stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense;and whoever believes in him will not beput to shame.
