느헤미야
1장
1 하가랴의 아들 느헤미야의 말이라 아닥사스다 왕 제이십년 기슬르월에 내가 수산 궁에 있는데
1 The words ofNehemiah the son of Hacaliah.Now it happened in the month ofChislev,in the twentieth year, as I was inSusa the citadel,
2 내 형제들 가운데 하나인 하나니가 두어 사람과 함께 유다에서 내게 이르렀기로 내가 그 사로잡힘을 면하고 남아 있는 유다와 예루살렘 사람들의 형편을 물은즉
2 thatHanani, one of my brothers, came with certain men from Judah. And I asked them concerning the Jews who escaped, who had survived the exile, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 그들이 내게 이르되 사로잡힘을 면하고 남아 있는 자들이 그 지방 거기에서 큰 환난을 당하고 능욕을 받으며 예루살렘 성은 허물어지고 성문들은 불탔다 하는지라
3 And they said to me,The remnant there in the province who had survived the exile is in great trouble andshame.The wall of Jerusalem is broken down,and its gates are destroyed by fire.
4 내가 이 말을 듣고 앉아서 울고 수일 동안 슬퍼하며 하늘의 하나님 앞에 금식하며 기도하여
4 As soon as I heard these words Isat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before theGod of heaven.
5 이르되 하늘의 하나님 여호와 크고 두려우신 하나님이여 주를 사랑하고 주의 계명을 지키는 자에게 언약을 지키시며 긍휼을 베푸시는 주여 간구하나이다
5 And I said,OLordGod of heaven,the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments,
6 이제 종이 주의 종들인 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 주야로 기도하오며 우리 이스라엘 자손이 주께 범죄한 죄들을 자복하오니 주는 귀를 기울이시며 눈을 여시사 종의 기도를 들으시옵소서 나와 내 아버지의 집이 범죄하여
6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants,confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. EvenI and my father's house have sinned.
7 주를 향하여 크게 악을 행하여 주께서 주의 종 모세에게 명령하신 계명과 율례와 규례를 지키지 아니하였나이다
7 We have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rulesthat you commanded your servant Moses.
8 옛적에 주께서 주의 종 모세에게 명령하여 이르시되 만일 너희가 범죄하면 내가 너희를 여러 나라 가운데에 흩을 것이요
8 Remember the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying,If you are unfaithful,I will scatter you among the peoples,
9 만일 내게로 돌아와 내 계명을 지켜 행하면 너희 쫓긴 자가 하늘 끝에 있을지라도 내가 거기서부터 그들을 모아 내 이름을 두려고 택한 곳에 돌아오게 하리라 하신 말씀을 이제 청하건대 기억하옵소서
9 but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them,though your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring themto the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.
10 이들은 주께서 일찍이 큰 권능과 강한 손으로 구속하신 주의 종들이요 주의 백성이니이다
10 They are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand.
11 주여 구하오니 귀를 기울이사 종의 기도와 주의 이름을 경외하기를 기뻐하는 종들의 기도를 들으시고 오늘 종이 형통하여 이 사람들 앞에서 은혜를 입게 하옵소서 하였나니 그 때에 내가 왕의 술 관원이 되었느니라
11 O Lord,let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.Now I wascupbearer to the king.
2장
1 아닥사스다 왕 제이십년 니산월에 왕 앞에 포도주가 있기로 내가 그 포도주를 왕에게 드렸는데 이전에는 내가 왕 앞에서 수심이 없었더니
1 In the month of Nisan,in the twentieth year of KingArtaxerxes, when wine was before him,I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence.
2 왕이 내게 이르시되 네가 병이 없거늘 어찌하여 얼굴에 수심이 있느냐 이는 필연 네 마음에 근심이 있음이로다 하더라 그 때에 내가 크게 두려워하여
2 And the king said to me,Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing butsadness of the heart.Then I was very much afraid.
3 왕께 대답하되 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 내 조상들의 묘실이 있는 성읍이 이제까지 황폐하고 성문이 불탔사오니 내가 어찌 얼굴에 수심이 없사오리이까 하니
3 I said to the king,Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad,when the city, the place of my fathers' graves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?
4 왕이 내게 이르시되 그러면 네가 무엇을 원하느냐 하시기로 내가 곧 하늘의 하나님께 묵도하고
4 Then the king said to me,What are you requesting?So I prayedto the God of heaven.
5 왕에게 아뢰되 왕이 만일 좋게 여기시고 종이 왕의 목전에서 은혜를 얻었사오면 나를 유다 땅 나의 조상들의 묘실이 있는 성읍에 보내어 그 성을 건축하게 하옵소서 하였는데
5 And I said to the king,If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' graves, that I may rebuild it.
6 그 때에 왕후도 왕 곁에 앉아 있었더라 왕이 내게 이르시되 네가 몇 날에 다녀올 길이며 어느 때에 돌아오겠느냐 하고 왕이 나를 보내기를 좋게 여기시기로 내가 기한을 정하고
6 And the king said to me (the queen sitting beside him),How long will you be gone, and when will you return?So it pleased the king to send mewhen I had given him a time.
7 내가 또 왕에게 아뢰되 왕이 만일 좋게 여기시거든 강 서쪽 총독들에게 내리시는 조서를 내게 주사 그들이 나를 용납하여 유다에 들어가기까지 통과하게 하시고
7 And I said to the king,If it pleases the king, let letters be given meto the governors of the province Beyond the River, that they may let me pass through until I come to Judah,
8 또 왕의 삼림 감독 아삽에게 조서를 내리사 그가 성전에 속한 영문의 문과 성곽과 내가 들어갈 집을 위하여 들보로 쓸 재목을 내게 주게 하옵소서 하매 내 하나님의 선한 손이 나를 도우시므로 왕이 허락하고
8 and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates ofthe fortress of the temple, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall occupy.And the king granted me what I asked,for the good hand of my God was upon me.
9 군대 장관과 마병을 보내어 나와 함께 하게 하시기로 내가 강 서쪽에 있는 총독들에게 이르러 왕의 조서를 전하였더니
9 Then I came tothe governors of the province Beyond the River and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.
10 호론 사람 산발랏과 종이었던 암몬 사람 도비야가 이스라엘 자손을 흥왕하게 하려는 사람이 왔다 함을 듣고 심히 근심하더라
10 But whenSanballat the Horonite andTobiah the Ammonite servant heard this, it displeased them greatly that someone had come to seek the welfare of the people of Israel.고린도전서
7장
1 너희가 쓴 문제에 대하여 말하면 남자가 여자를 가까이 아니함이 좋으나
1 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote:It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.
2 음행을 피하기 위하여 남자마다 자기 아내를 두고 여자마다 자기 남편을 두라
2 But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
3 남편은 그 아내에 대한 의무를 다하고 아내도 그 남편에게 그렇게 할지라
3 The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.
4 아내는 자기 몸을 주장하지 못하고 오직 그 남편이 하며 남편도 그와 같이 자기 몸을 주장하지 못하고 오직 그 아내가 하나니
4 For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
5 서로 분방하지 말라 다만 기도할 틈을 얻기 위하여 합의상 얼마 동안은 하되 다시 합하라 이는 너희가 절제 못함으로 말미암아 사탄이 너희를 시험하지 못하게 하려 함이라
5 Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again,so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
6 그러나 내가 이 말을 함은 허락이요 명령은 아니니라
6 Now as a concession,not a command, I say this.
7 나는 모든 사람이 나와 같기를 원하노라 그러나 각각 하나님께 받은 자기의 은사가 있으니 이 사람은 이러하고 저 사람은 저러하니라
7 I wish that all wereas I myself am. Buteach has his own gift from God,one of one kind and one of another.
8 내가 결혼하지 아니한 자들과 과부들에게 이르노니 나와 같이 그냥 지내는 것이 좋으니라
8 To the unmarried and the widows I say thatit is good for them to remain singleas I am.
9 만일 절제할 수 없거든 결혼하라 정욕이 불 같이 타는 것보다 결혼하는 것이 나으니라
9 But if they cannot exercise self-control,they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
10 결혼한 자들에게 내가 명하노니 (명하는 자는 내가 아니요 주시라) 여자는 남편에게서 갈라서지 말고
10 To the marriedI give this charge (not I, but the Lord):the wife should not separate from her husband
11 (만일 갈라섰으면 그대로 지내든지 다시 그 남편과 화합하든지 하라) 남편도 아내를 버리지 말라
11 (but if she does,she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), andthe husband should not divorce his wife.
12 그 나머지 사람들에게 내가 말하노니 (이는 주의 명령이 아니라) 만일 어떤 형제에게 믿지 아니하는 아내가 있어 남편과 함께 살기를 좋아하거든 그를 버리지 말며
12 To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her.
13 어떤 여자에게 믿지 아니하는 남편이 있어 아내와 함께 살기를 좋아하거든 그 남편을 버리지 말라
13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him.
14 믿지 아니하는 남편이 아내로 말미암아 거룩하게 되고 믿지 아니하는 아내가 남편으로 말미암아 거룩하게 되나니 그렇지 아니하면 너희 자녀도 깨끗하지 못하니라 그러나 이제 거룩하니라
14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband.Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
15 혹 믿지 아니하는 자가 갈리거든 갈리게 하라 형제나 자매나 이런 일에 구애될 것이 없느니라 그러나 하나님은 화평 중에서 너희를 부르셨느니라
15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called youto peace.
16 아내 된 자여 네가 남편을 구원할는지 어찌 알 수 있으며 남편 된 자여 네가 네 아내를 구원할는지 어찌 알 수 있으리요
16 For how do you know, wife,whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
